- Synopsis:
-
The course of the Soft tissues biomechanics familiarizes students with physiological and mechanical processes and states observed in soft tissues like tendons, ligaments, cartilage, skin, and systems like gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and cardiovascular system. Balance principles of mechanics are applied to a particular tissue and a discussion of mechanical properties is provided and frequent pathologies are also pointed out with emphasize given to a mutual relationship between pathogenesis and biomechanics of tissues.
Anatomical introduction
Mechanics of fundamental tissue proteins
