The lectures have an aim to extend the knowledge in the field of wave optics and its application in measurement instruments, industry and medicin applications.
Content:
Application of polarization effects, diffraction, scattering, birefringence and non-linear effects in metrology. Functional principles of lasers and its application.

• Polarization - Jones and Mueller count.
• Rayleigh scattering.

• Lasers – radiation generation; fibers, semiconductors, tunable lasers.
• 2nd harmonics generation, Q-switch, Pockels cell.
• Next monochromatisation of the laser beam.
