Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to acquaint students with developmental trends in foundry technology. On the one hand, the computational models, as well as the latest findings in the field of modern foundry technologies - die casting, precision die casting, mould printing.
• Mould making materials. Sharpeners and binders.
• Mechanical, thermal and chemical properties of moulding compounds.
• Production of non-durable forms.
• Cast into permanent forms.
• Melting metals and the possibilities of foundry metallurgy.
• Properties of molten metals and metal flow, filling time.
• Design of grids.
• Temperature gradients. Pouring of metals and alloys.
• Casting and Casting Design.
• Heat treatment and casting defects. Quality control and quality control.
• New foundry manufacturing technologies.
• Application of additive technologies in foundry industry
