•Solar energy. Geometry of solar radiation. Irradiance level in CZ and Europe.

•Solar thermal collectors and parameters. Efficiency and optical characteristics of solar collectors.

•Solar thermal systems.

•Calculation of required solar collector area for systems.

•Hydraulic schemes of solar systems.

•Basic principles of heat pumping. Carnot cycle. Rankin cycle. Real cycle.

•Components of heat pumps

•Parameters of heat pumps. Heating power, cooling power, electric input, coefficient of performance.

•Sources of low potential heat for heat pumps (air, water, ground, waste heat) and their design.

•Design and operation of heat pumps. Storage tanks for heat pumps. Hydraulics.

•Annual effectivity of heat pump, bin method for performance assessment.

•Interesting and significant installations of alternative energy sources in CZ

•Solar laboratory excursion
