Students will get acquainted with the administration of database and web servers and services. They will be able to install, configure, operate, test, and backup complex database and web service systems. The principles will be demonstrated on the PostgreSQL relational database engine and Apache will be used as an example of a web server.

4. Authentication and authorization, security, user directories.
5. Monitoring access to a server, analytical tools.
6. Proxy server, URL rewriting, optimization, load balancing.
7. Relational DB architecture.
8. Relational DB configuration.
9. Usual DB management - user accounts, data structures.
10. DB monitoring.
11. DB engine tuning and configuration.
12. DB engine scaling.
13. Non-relational DB engines.
