The course develops students' knowledge in the field of solid state physics.
•Definition of solids. Type of solid state matters.
•Radiation sources for X-ray diffraction. Monochromation methods of X-ray radiation.
•Diffusion dispersion of X-ray on mono crystals and thin layers.
•Crystalline structures.
•Methods for investigation of crystals - rentgenographie, optical and chemical.
•Fick’s laws. Lattice defects in crystals.
•Types of bonds in solids. Madelung‘s constant. Models of bonds, calculating of heat capacity.
•Band model of condensed matter. Metals, semiconductors and insulators.
•Semiconductor structures – diode effect.
•Insulators and their optical properties – scintilators. Conductors and supraconductors.
•Experimental investigations of metal, insulators and semiconductor properties.
•Employing this properties for devices and sensors design and technology.
