The course expands the overview of technological possibilities in the field of multimedia design and offers a theoretical and practical insight combined with confrontation with real-world practice. The introductory block focuses on hardware and software tools (light, sound, projection, LED technologies, display media, and specialized software for content creation), supplemented by examples of realizations from abroad and the Czech Republic. This is followed by an excursion to the backstage of a selected project and lectures by professionals from practice accompanied by discussion.
The aim is to develop students ability to understand technologies not only as tools but also as media with content and meaning. Emphasis is placed on critical reflection on the relationship between technology used, the specific site, and the resulting visual-sound composition.
Teaching takes the form of lectures, excursions, and discussions. The output of the course is a written analysis of a selected project from an ongoing exhibition or light festival, elaborating on the hardware and software tools used, the site-specific character of the work, and the approach to content creation.

Upon completion of the course, the student:
is familiar with basic hardware and software tools used in multimedia installations;
understands the principles of working with light, sound, projection, and display media;
is able to analyze the site-specific character of a multimedia work and its relationship to space;
critically reflects on the connection between technology and content in contemporary multimedia creation.
