- Synopsis:
-
Overview of basic toxicology, containing general and special toxicology, toxicological data, legislation and basic aspects of chemical compounds handling. In general toxicology aspects of toxicity, metabolism, biodistribution and elimination has been described, as well as toxicological effects, evaluation of toxicity, indexes, and biological tests. In special toxicology part selected group of organic compounds, inorganic compounds, natural compounds and warfare were described from toxicity behaviour. In legislation part REACH, international and national regulation is described.
- Requirements:
-
The lecture is intended for students of all chemical branches. The basic knowledge of physico-chemical, organic, and inorganic chemistry and biochemistry is supposed. The exam is a test, to meet the requirement is more than 60% of the possible points.
- Syllabus of lectures:
-
1.General toxicology, basic terminology.
2.Biology, physiology, mechanism of uptake and distribution.
3.Biotransformation and elimination of xenobiotics.
4.Basic toxicology effects, factor, indexes.
5.Experimental toxikology.
6.Quantitative and qualitative relation between structure and biological effects.
7.Toxicology of inorganic compounds.
