Synopsis:

Project II is a multidisciplinary course, which has two basic missions. On the one hand, it combines partial knowledge acquired in previous courses of study (production management, computer modelling and simulation, cost and financial controlling, statistics, …). On the other hand, it allows students under the guidance of the educator to apply the acquired knowledge and larger independent creative work in the framework of solving complex problems from company practice. The main task of the student teams is to analyse the selected complex problem in the field of production management, to propose its solutions and to evaluate the solution after the technical-managerial-economic aspect. It means for example: analysis of the impact of modern production technologies on production systems, analysis and optimization of production and logistics systems and processes, ergonomic analysis and optimization, application of lean manufacturing methods and principles etc. The student takes a practical view of applying the theoretical knowledge and principles, trying to work in a team and acquiring presentation skills. The project is solved after partial milestones.

Requirements:
Syllabus of lectures:

1.-7.Introduction to individual milestones - see the outline of exercises.

Syllabus of tutorials:

1."Milestone I (1st week)

- Introduction to the course, objectives of the course, presentation of previous solved projects and form teams

- Presentation and assignment of complex problems from the field of production management

"

2.-3."Milestone II (2nd - 3rd week)

- Acquaintance with the assigned problem, information retrieval, repetition of knowledge from previous studies

- Definition of the problem, description of objectives and tasks, selection of the suitable solution, elaboration of the solution timetable"

4.-8."Milestone III (4-8th week)

- Collection and analysis of input data, computer modelling and simulation, implementation of other requirements

- Comprehensive analysis of the problem solved"

9.-12."Milestone IV (9th - 12th week)

- Suggestion of possible solutions to the problem, evaluation and selection of the most suitable

- Implementation of the selected solution"

13."Milestone V (Week 13)

- Completing the ongoing project report, presenting and defending the solution"
