Modern construction practice requires the application of various supporting tools and methods. The course is focused on acquire practical skills in user control not only of office applications (especially MS Excel). The aim is to improve their existing skills and acquire new ones to save time at work. The main goal is to focus on such skills that are applicable in continuing subjects and practice. It includes the verification of knowledge when creating examples in the exercise.

A prerequisite is the basic user knowledge of a computer and common office applications. The advantage is orientation in the structure of applications and their accessories.

1. Basic breakdown of software tools for construction practice
(including VBA into tool creation, test example)
2. Tools for creating technical-economic processes
(flowchart rules, symbols, online/offline tools)
3. Tools for dynamic processes (definition of management processes)
(user functions, form application, extending the test case)
4. Tools for risk processes, their creation, terminology
(histogram charts, untypical charts, dynamic charts)
5. Decision Support System in construction practice
(monitoring and evaluation of parameters)
6. Reporting as a part of DSS
(data import, defining and compiling outputs)
7. Change Management not only in the environment of a construction company
(proposal of system changes and their evaluation)
8. Tools for process performance management
(proposal of changes to achieve defined goals)
9. Application creation
10. Creation of dashboards
(data studio, creating a dashboard in a test example)
11. Contingency analyses
(assembly of pivot table and pivot chart)
12. Analytical tools in office applications
(solution search, tabulation, data analysis, scenario manager)
13. Database applications I, creation, use
(data import, filtering, setting fields)

The goal of the study is to present various office and managerial tools applicable not only in the practice of a construction company. To create the practices which diferentiate the graduate of the subject from the standard user. The skills can be applied in other subjects across the study plan. Topics covered may include management, statistics, mathematics, data mining, management, and graphic presentation of data.
