- Tutor:
- Lucie Horáková, Christiane Malá
- Supervisor:
- Department of Biomedical Informatics
- Synopsis:
-
Students will learn how to use Matlab, get knowledge of data structures and with data and working with data and their display. During the semester, they will gain knowledge of creating scripts in Matlab and the basics for their use in the processing of biomedical data.
- Requirements:
-
A maximum of 30 points can be earned from three mini-tests (10 points each, 15 minutes each), held in the 3rd, 4th, and 6th lessons. Attendance at least 2 of 3 mini-tests is required to be admitted to the final test; however, no minimum score is required.
The final test (90 minutes) is written in the last lesson and is worth up to 70 points.
The overall evaluation follows the ECTS grading scale: F (<50), E (5059), D (6069), C (7079), B (8089), A (90100).
- Syllabus of lectures:
- Syllabus of tutorials:
-
1. Basic description of the Matlab environment and its characteristics (core, toolboxes, Simulink, help). Command line, elementary operations with real numbers.
2. Variables, working with character strings, mathematical functions, vectors.
3. Mini-test, relational operators, matrices and vectors, matrix operations, matrix generation, special types of matrices, matrix indexing, saving and loading variables.
4. Mini-test, loops.
5. Scripts and functions, conditional statements.
6. Mini-test, 2D graphics, continuous 2D plot, multiple curves in one window, plot appearance, logarithmic coordinates, multiple plots in one window, saving and exporting graphics.
