Students will gain basic insight into biomechanics of cell and subcellular structures. The molecular forces driving self-assembly are discussed and their impact on mechanical properties of subcellular structures are show. Namely, the course deals with mechanics of biological membrane, mechanics of macromolecules including entropic elasticity principles, mechanics molecular meshes and tensegrity structures.
