- Synopsis:
-
The course familiarizes students with the basic processes of degradation, which is exposed to the electrical product in a production environment.
The student will apply this knowledge to a specific product for a model operating environment. The student should try to verify the dominant degradation process of the product in the laboratory or perform its computer simulation.
Attention is also paid to environmental aspects associated with the choice of materials (technology) that are able to limit the degradation process.
- Requirements:
- Syllabus of lectures:
-
1. Operating environment of el. equipment
2. Basics of the theory of reliability and durability of el. equipment
3. Degradation effect of the operating environment
4. Thermo-oxidative ageing of the material
5. Corrosion degradation
6. Photochemical degradation
7. Dust-induced degradation
8. Moisture degradation
9. Degradation induced by mechanical stress
10. Computer simulation of degradation processes
11. El. equipment in a difficult operating environment
12. Ecological aspects of using selected materials for a difficult environment
13. The methodology of life and reliability tests
14. Methodology of climatic and mechanical resistance tests
