Synopsis:

Road and rail transport systems - characteristics, distribution and application vehicles. Characteristics of transport routes and dimensions of vehicles on the track link. Driving resistance and traction characteristics of the vehicles. Analysis of the driving cycle. Internal combustion engines - classification, characteristics, characteristics. Methods of power transmission with a drive mechanism. The function of basic structural units and groups of vehicles.

Requirements:
Syllabus of lectures:

1. Evaluation of transport systems (economic, ecological, transport capacities and outputs, comprehensive evaluation).

2. Road transport systems - properties, division and usability of road and off-road vehicles.

3. Rail transport systems - properties, division and usability of rail vehicles.

4. Characteristics of traffic routes, passability, dimensions of vehicles. Track - construction, tracing, dimensions, …

5. Driving resistances and traction characteristics of vehicles. Vehicle driving mechanics, evaluation of driving cycle.

6. Drive units for road and off-road vehicles. Internal combustion engines - classification, parameters and characteristics.

7. Traction systems and powertrains of rolling stock.

8. Ways of energy transfer by the drive device

9. Significance, characteristics and functions of basic aggregates and structural groups of land vehicles.

10. Brakes of road vehicles - principles, basic design solutions.

11. Rail vehicle brakes - principles, basic design solutions.

12. Car steering, steering axle geometry.

13. Directional vehicle guidance, the principle of vehicle guidance in the track.

Syllabus of tutorials:
Study Objective:

To acquaint students with the basic structural units and functions of transport - road and rail vehicles. Characteristic of transport systems, vehicle driving units and power flow by this. Derivation of driving mechanics principles, direction driving and braking.
