The course provides and overview of practical application of biomechanical analysis in design of medical devices. The development process of new medical devices is described along with necessary introduction to Czech and EU legislative. Selected topics are devoted to individual and individualized implants.

Week 2: Theoretical Mechanics and curvatureof real biomechanical work
Week 3: The dynamics of the muscular and skeletal system

Week 5: Curvature theory of elasticity I (theory)
Week 6: Curvature theory of elasticity II (example)
Week 7: Analysis of cortical bone
Week 8: Analysis of trabecular bone
Week 9: Intervertebral disc

Week 11: Residual stresses in blood vessels
