Synopsis:

The subject is an analysis of the basic approaches of materials engineering as an interdisciplinary field, which is based on physics, chemistry and other technical fields, but is also interested in knowledge from medicine, economics and ecology. It follows on from the subjects Physical Metallurgy, Metallic Materials, Non-Metallic Materials and Experimental Materials Study Methods.
