Basics of experimental measurement and instrumentation of tested elements and structures. Theory of experiment, measurement and processing of results. Design and principles of different types of sensors, strain gauge applications, testing machines and equipment. Static and dynamic load tests of structures, elements and components. Destructive and non-destructive test methods. Diagnostics of building structures.

Failures of building materials, mechanical, thermal, chemical and other influences of building material failures.
Diagnostics of their occurrence.
Testing machines and equipment.
Deformation measuring instruments.
Destructive tests of mechanical properties.
Non-destructive test methods.
Chemical analysis (sampling, purpose, requirements).
Test methodology for selected construction materials (concrete, mortar, metallic elements, wood, glass, plastics, composites and others).
