Synopsis:

The course English 1 is an intensive course designed to help foreign students reach the B2 level of mastering English, which is an obligatory pre-requisite for entering university studies in the Czech Republic.

There is a team of teachers working in each group, including a native speaker.

The standardised B2 examination held at the end of the academic year/second semester is a part of the course.

Requirements:

active participation in lessons, submitting all assignments, minimum attendance 80%

Study Objective:

The goal of this course is for the students to augment their overall knowledge of the English language, concerning all the four language skills involved: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. It should enhance their communicative competence in terms of vocabulary, grammar, intelligible pronunciation, listening comprehension, coherent organization of information at sentence and discourse levels. The very aim of the course is for the students to substantially increase their potential to pass the standardised B2 examination held at the end of the second term.
