The course is devoted to the history and present of irrigation and drainage systems used mainly in agriculture. Students will learn about irrigation and drainage devices, their purpose and the principle of their function. They will obtain the basic knowledge for designing, maintaining and upgrading drainage and irrigation systems.

1. Introduction to the subject, history of land reclamation structures
2. Drainage of agricultural land, waterlogging, its causes, input data for drainage design
3. Main and detailed drainage facilities, surface pipe drainage
4. Determination of design parameters of pipe drainage, operation and maintenance of drainage systems
5. Other types of detailed drainage facilities, reconstruction and upgrading of drainage systems
6. Landfill drainage, sports field drainage, building drainage
7. Introduction to irrigation, need for irrigation, drought assessment.
8. Hydraulic limits for irrigation, automated irrigation systems
9. Calculation of supplementary irrigation Vc, Mz, Md
10. Repeat hydraulics, irrigation systems, spraying, belt sprinklers
11. Irrigation purposes and irrigation methods, artificial snow
12. Design, practice, problems.
