- Supervisor:
- Department of Architectural Engineering
- Synopsis:
-
The aim of the course is to build on 124YBM1 and expand knowledge in the modern and often required area of building information modeling, especially with a focus on design practice. The course will be taught on the Autodesk platform, especially in Revit software.
- Requirements:
-
Basic knowledge of BIM model creation in Revit (e.g., completion of 124YBM1), and orientation in the program.
- Syllabus of lectures:
-
The exact composition of lectures depends on the specific interest of students in a given semester.
Topics usually include the following:
- family formation,
- HVAC modeling,
- project template,
- working on a shared project,
- truss modeling,
- drawing template.
- Syllabus of tutorials:
-
1) Comparison of starting knowledge (or recommendation for further study), and selection of a project for the rest of the semester.
2) „Best practices“ when working with a project, setting up a shared project, working with it, project phases, and design options.
3) Creating a structural model, modeling steel structures.
4) Creating a structural model, modeling reinforcement.
5) Advanced modeling of dynamic families - introduction: templates, planes, rules, best practices.
6) Advanced dynamic family modeling - practical window and door creation.
7) Advanced dynamic family modeling - adaptive components, envelope panel.
8) Parametric modeling in Dynamo - introduction, introduction to options, creating a simple script.
9) Parametric modeling in Dynamo - mathematical modeling, working with data (import/export to Excel, etc.).
10) Model analysis (lighting, glare, energy).
11) Usability of the model within the life cycle (working with data, „mining“ the model).
12) Data interoperability (different software, IFC, exports, etc.).
13) Usability of the model within FM (COBie ... ).
- Study Objective:
-
Expanding knowledge of Autodesk Revit in design practice, in particular:
- more advanced family creation,
- the creation of project documentation,
- analysis in Revit,
- interdisciplinary collaboration - export and import of IFC,
- parametric modeling in Dynamo.
