Synopsis:

The subject deals with personnel/HR strategies and practices. The background is the state-of-the-art in the field of human resources management in the world and the Czech Republic. The objective is to learn personnel/HR know-how used in companies with a good reputation in the labor market and to practice skills useful in solving individual tasks and team projects. A part of the personal development is to elaborate, present and defend a seminal work on a personnel/HR topic that requires to master an integrated approach to managing people in a business environment.

Requirements:

The credit is for active participation in the exercises, i.e., solving tasks and case studies, writing two online tests (simulation of the test), processing and presenting the semester work.

The exam is for writing the test (minimum number of points is 50% of the total number) and an oral exam.

Rating:

Test: Max. 100 points and min. 50 points.

Exam:

1) Test: max. 60 points, minimum required - 30 points.

2) Oral part: base on obligatory literature + lectures

Evaluation:

A 90-100 points

B 80 - 89 points

C 70 - 79 points

D 60 - 69 points

E 50 - 59 points

F less than 49 points

Study Objective:

1. To deepen knowledge of personnel/HR management achieved at bachelor level of study

2. to enlarge knowledge on strategies and practices in managing people in specific conditions, e.g., in small and medium-sized companies, multinational companies and non-profit organizations

3. To develop skills in teamwork in the field of HRM/managing people

4. To get knowledge about integrating people's management into corporate systems and processes
