- Supervisor:
- Institute of Management Studies
- Synopsis:
-
The course is aimed at practical application of how the individual components (methods and techniques - mainly applied statistical methods and techniques) used in this approach and a common application of these components throughout the DMAIC cycle (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control).
- Requirements:
- Syllabus of lectures:
-
Six Sigma (basics and history of the approach, methodology and focus), the application of Six Sigma in production and in service provision;
Relationship of Six Sigma and Lean Management, linking Six Sigma project goals with organizational strategy;
Basic description of the DMAIC methodology;
DEFINE - to select the project for the application of Six Sigma, project team and project planning;
DEFINE - stakeholder analysis (analysis of the relationship matrix the choice of communication strategy for individual stakeholders);
DEFINE - determining the voice of the customer (VOC) and identifying CTQ (Critical to Quality);
DEFINE / MEASURE - mapping the process;
MEASURE - process capability, determination of the causes and identify root causes;
MEASURE - planning, data collection, collecting
data (data types, data collection form, the operational definition for measuring and monitoring, security and authentication, validity of data);
ANALYZE - analysis of data (graphical analysis, correlation and regression analysis, hypothesis testing, reliability of equipment and products),
verifying the accuracy of identification of root causes;
IMPROVE - design, prioritization and selection of alternative solutions, design of experiments (checking the influence of various factors and finding the right setting);
IMPROVE - implementation of improvements;
CONTROL ? confirming the accuracy of the process improvement (SPC - Statistical Process Control - control charts); closure of the Six Sigma project.
