- Synopsis:
-
The advanced features of AutoCAD are introduced, focusing on civil engineer designers and architects, as well as the possibilities of user customization and extension (including AutoLISP programming language), which will make work in the program significantly more efficient. AutoCAD features include external references, dynamic blocks, constraints, quick selection, advanced layer functionalities, data extraction and data linking (automatic generation of list of items), tool palettes, sheet sets, Express Tools, purge function, and drawing recovery, etc. Within user customization, the creation of user linetypes and hatch patterns, customization of user interface, keyboard shortcuts, the basics of the AutoLISP programming language to create simple custom commands will be introduced.
- Requirements:
-
Prerequisites:
The course follows on from 124XCA1. Knowledge of the AutoCAD basics in 2D is a prerequisite. Credit from XCA1 course is not mandatory.
Course completion requirements:
Attendance (max. 3 absences) + final work carried out successfully
- Syllabus of lectures:
-
1. Student version of the program. Introduction to the program. Annotative behaviour (annotations, hatches, blocks), quick selection, similar selection, etc..
2. External references, advanced layer functionalities (layer states, filters), Express tools.
3. Blocks with attributes, data extractions, data links. Fields.
4. Dynamic blocks, constraints.
5. Dynamic blocks (continuation).
6. Dynamic blocks (continuation).
7. Tool palettes, user interface customization.
8. Creation of user linetypes and hatch patterns, purge, drawing recovery.
9. Keyboard shortcuts, creating macros
10. AutoLISP, syntax, basics, simple custom commands
11. AutoLISP simple custom commands
