Synopsis:

Advanced course on finite element method. Formulation of plate elements suitable for thin and thick plates, plates on elastic foundation. Introduction to nonlinear problems: geometrical and material nonlinearity, solution methods, implementation aspects.

Requirements:

132NAK1 course recommended, basic knowledge of finite element method and numerical methods required

Study Objective:

Students will get familiar with the application of the finite element method for solving selected problems. Emphasis on problem formulation, numerical solution and algorithmic aspects. Demonstration using prototype codes in Matlab
