Synopsis:

Basics of experimental measurement and instrumentation of testing structures. Theory of experimental work, measurements, data exploatation and processing of results. Structures and principal behavior of testing devices, tenzometers, inductive senzors etc. Static and dynamic loading testing of structures and their parts. Destructive and nondestructive testing methods. Diagnostics of civil engineering structures. Excursion on site or on the building structure. Concept of management of quality, system of quality of the building firms, phase of control of the quality of the projects, building process and finished structures. Acreditation process of the testing laboratories. Certification of the quality systems of production and certification of products.

Requirements:

Condition for exams - finished homeworks from laboratory and finished laboratory report. Obligatory presence in education.

Syllabus of lectures:

1. Failures of civil engineering structures - mechanical and thermal influences of failures.

2. Failures of civil engineering structures - chenical and other influences of failures

3. Diagnostics of structural failures.

4. Devices and machines for diagnostics of structural failures.

5. Devices for measurement of deformations and displacements.

6. Destructive investigation of mechanical characteristics of civil engineering materials I.

8. Destructive investigation of mechanical characteristics of civil engineering materials II.

9. Nedestruktivní zkušební metody I.

10. Chemical analyses

11. Testing methodology of some civil engineering materials (concrete, plaster, steel, wood, glass, plastics, composites etc.).

12. Devices and methodology for diagnostics of civil engineering materials and their characteristics.

13. Test

Syllabus of tutorials:

Mainly laboratory work, excursion on site, presentation of experimental results.

Study Objective:

Students will get information over the experimental investigation and data interpretation. They will know testing procedures for different civil engineering structures.
