Basic course in building services systems - water supply, drainage, gas supply and heating systems.

- Syllabus of lectures:

1 Sanitary technology - introduction, typology of furnishing objects, installation management/ Introduction to ventilation. Air quality.
2 Waste water disposal, external and internal drainage/Thermal load of conditioned environments.
3 Ductwork hydraulics, water supply to buildings, water demand balance/Natural and hybrid ventilation, design principles.
4 Indoor plumbing, hydraulic calculation/Forced ventilation, duct airflow, hot air heating. Residential ventilation.
5 Hot water preparation/Basics of air distribution. Introduction to humid air.
6 External and internal gas ducts, flue gas extraction/Air conditioning, damp air treatment.
7 Introduction to heating, overview of systems, theoretical basis - applied thermokinetics and indoor environmental theory/Principles of cooling systems, principles of fire ventilation.
8 Space heating and design of heating surfaces/Noise in air handling systems.
9 Heating systems 1 - design/Parts of forced ventilation systems, terminal equipment, control.
10 Heating systems 2 - design, safety and security devices/Basics of electrical engineering, power engineering and electrical wiring.
11 Heat supply 1 - non-renewable sources/Electrical shock protection.
12 Heat supply 1 - renewable sources/Artificial lighting, basic concepts and design.
13 Metering and control in heating/Circuit breaker systems, design, implementation and installation conditions. Active lightning conductors.

- Study Objective:

The student will gain an overview of indoor and outdoor plumbing systems, gas piping, water piping, heating systems, HVAC and electrical systems. They will learn how to design these at a basic level.
