Synopsis:

Position of psychiatry and organization of psychiatric care.Relationships between psychiatry and psychology, neurology and other related disciplines. Psychosomatic effects. Disorders of particular mental functions. Basic themes: Cognition and its disorders, illusions, hallucinations. Life meaning deprivation. Emotions. Conditions and its disorders. Memory and intellectual capacity. Thinking and its disorders.

Biological methods of the treatment. Personality and its disorders. Neurotic disorders and stress-induced disorders. Manifestations of most frequently occurring mental diseases: schizophrenia. Manifestations of most frequently occurring mental diseases: affective disorders. Dependences. Oligophrenia and dementia. Problems of paediatric psychiatry. Disorders of the mental development.
