Synopsis:

The aim of the course is to deepen students knowledge in the field of mainframe systems and to provide an understanding of IT deployment in the corporate environment. The course is taught by external specialists from Broadcom. As part of the course, students will participate in real software projects.

Requirements:

Basics of operating systems, mainframe and databases. The course credit is awarded upon successful completion of the work planned within the assigned project.

Syllabus of lectures:

The course content is always related to the specific project the students are working on. These projects are primarily focused on the following areas:

1. Mainframe hardware.

2. Security in the mainframe environment (SAF, RACF).

3. Transaction systems (CICS).

4. Virtualization (History, Basic terms, Virtualization concept, Mainframe hardware

virtualization).

5. Non-relational databases.

of mainframe system administration.
