The use of construction waste from demolitions from the production of building materials and from other sectors in the construction industry with the aim of: significantly reducing the volumes of landfilled materials, reducing the consumption of primary raw materials, a new perspective on the design of buildings and structures in accordance with a closed life cycle. Legislation, levels of recycling in developed countries, recycling in CR, possibilities of recycling buildings and structures, design of structures from the point of view of sustainable development, minimization of landfills, examples and demonstrations of recycling technologies, low-waste technologies

- Syllabus of lectures:

1. Recycling in general. Basic concepts, goals and functions of recycling, meaning of recycling, environment-production-consumption-waste treatment-environment cycle. Low-waste technologies.
2. Valid legislation, its consequences, proposal for demolition procedures. Act No. 541/2020 Coll. Act on waste and its consequences for construction production. Demolition procedures and their influence on the quality of recycled material.
3. Construction and secondary raw material sources. Waste from the production of construction materials, construction waste, rubble from demolitions, waste outside the construction industry, the current level of recycling in the construction industry.
4. Recycling in the production of insulating mineral materials. Minimization of energy demand during recycling in the construction industry. Ecological aspect of recycling. Environmental care and building construction
5. Use of secondary raw materials in terms of energy savings. Energy and recycling, energy savings in waste processing.
6. Minimization of energy demand during recycling in the construction industry. Ecological aspect of recycling. Environmental care and building construction.

The student get fundamentals of using building waste from demolitions, production of building material and other branches of building industry with aim distinct reduce of waste disposal content, reduce of primary raw material consumption, new view of building and construction design in according with close-life cycle.
