Synopsis:

The importance of logistics in a firm. Total costs concept, relationships among logistics activities and costs. Applications of logistics in a contracting company. Logistics information systems. Stock and supplies management, importance of supplies, classification of supplies, the ABC-XYZ analysis, management of the material flow, TQM. Stocking and storing, function of storing operations, manipulation with material. Procurement, its role and tasks, surveys and planning in procurement, selection and evaluation of contractors, vendors, and suppliers. Services offered to customers, building-up relations with the customer. Methodological build-up of logistics. Structure of an efficient logistics system. Logistics strategy and the general company strategy. Logistics controlling. Principles of successful logistics implementation in a company.
