Advanced design of underground structures, technology of tunelling methods. Constitutive models of rock mass behaviour. Mathematical methods of solution - FEM, Distinct Element Method, validity of solutions. Summary of PC geotechnical software for modelling of underground structures. Case histories of selected geotechnical problems.

6 Calculation of internal forces in lining, numerical analysis of tunnels

In the exercises, practical assignments are used to practise the professional issues presented in lectures 1 to 6.
