Examination administration: the examination consists of three parts - written, oral and portfolio.
The written part: The written part is similar in form and scope to the Reading and Use of English part of the Cambridge First exam. The written part includes a writing assignment - a short text of 140-180 words on a given topic. e.g. Flood protection, Sustainable living, GPS, Surveying etc.
The oral part: the oral part is based on a pre-prepared presentation (preferably a powerpoint presentation) in which the student talks professionally about his/her research, studies, gives information about the organization of the FCE and CTU or information about the institution where he/she works (how he/she would present it to his/her foreign colleagues), describes the educational and research activities of the department, presents his/her own teaching and research activities. Furthermore, the student will talk about the literature studied and materials submitted.
Portfolio: The student will submit the portfolio by email to Mgr. Florianová or Mgr. Sandra Giormani. (Note: If the student does not submit all required materials, he/she will not be allowed to take the exam.)
