Synopsis:

Description of space and main methods of the projection - multiview projection as a basis for orientation in 3D CAD systems, axonometry, linear perspective. Surfaces in building practice - graphic law, geometric characteristic and image in appropriate projection, realization and application. Namely: Cylinders and Cones, Hyperboloid of Revolution, Helical Surfaces, Quadrics. Visualization of objects in 3D program SketchUp. Curves in building practice - types of mathematical description.

Requirements:

Mandatory active participation in classes, a maximum of 3 excused absences.

Submission of semestral project within the prescribed period and quality (see Moodle).

Completion of the written exam work.

5. Helical surfaces - classification, application, construction, modelling in SW SketchUp

6. Axonometric projection - attributes, procedures, applications

8. Quadrics - classification, applications, sketching

9. Quadrics - modelling in SW SketchUp

10. Perspective - attributes, procedures, applications

11. Perspective - solids and arcs, nets

12. Frenet Trihedron - calculation, application

13. Curvature and osculating circle - calculation, application

Study Objective:

The first aim is to increase students' competence in techniques of space projection. The second aim is to present curves, solids, surfaces as part of civil engineering and architecture.
