Water supply in the Czech Republic, in Prague.
Water supply in the countries / in regions from them the students come. - Assignment of student work.
Water sources – groundwater sources and surface water sources (abstraction and intake objects, water quality)
Chemistry, microbiology and biology of water (significance of characteristics of water, standards)
History of water treatment, processes of drinking water treatment, water treatment plants
Surface water treatment – screening, pre oxidation, sedimentation, clarification, dissolved air flotation, filtration, adsorption, stabilisation, disinfection
Groundwater treatment – removal of CO2, iron and manganese, disinfection, filtration
Water demand, disproportion in water demand, leakage of water.
Storage Necessary. Pressure zones.
Pumps and pumping stations
Distribution of water.
Design of water distribution systems.
Materials of pipe system.
Construction and maintenance of distribution systems
