Synopsis:

This course is designed for students in the undergraduate Civil Engineering program as a supplement to the Physics 102FYI course. The content of the seminar is to deepen the knowledge from the basic physics course and to apply this knowledge to solve specific problems in mechanics and thermodynamics. The course is designed as a calculus seminar (solving simple problems of physics). The course is very suitable as a supplement to the lectures in Physics (102FYI) and as a preparation for the exam.

Requirements:

compulsory attendance at the seminar, solving of assigned tasks,

passing a final test

Syllabus of lectures:

The course has no lectures.

Syllabus of tutorials:

Fundamentals of mechanics of mass points. Gravitational field. Rigid body mechanics. Mechanics of deformable bodies. Hydromechanics. Oscillations and waves. Fundamentals of thermodynamics. Heat conduction.

Study Objective:

The aim of the seminar is to deepen the knowledge of students of the basic physics course and to apply this knowledge for solving specific physical problems in mechanics and thermodynamics.
