Synopsis:

Introduction to computer simulations used in HVAC engineering. Overview of available software tools.

Requirements:

There are no prerequisities.

Syllabus of lectures:

Subsystems in buildings and their interaction, software simulation tools, performance of a room without air-conditioning, mean radiant temperature, thermal comfort indicies, heat and moisture transfer in buidling structure, glazing characteristics, contaminant spread in indoor air, air flow in rooms, integrated building simulation

Syllabus of tutorials:

Simulation of air temperature in a room without air-conditioning, calculation of mean radiant temperature, thermal comfort assessment, moisture condensation in masonry, calculation of solar properties of glazing, CO2 concentration in a room, computational fluid dynamics, integrate dbuilding simulaiton.

Study Objective:

Theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of simulations of buildings nad HVAC systems.
