The following themes create the content of the course:

?topology, linking, addressing, communication protocols

?history of the Internet

?access to the Internet¨

?FTP, Gopher and WWW protocols ? basics of functioning and usage, hypertext.

?communication services on the Internet ? electronic mail, IRC.

?searching information on the Internet

?Internet security, futher prospectives of the Internet development.

Study Objective:

The aim of the course is to give students an insight into the field of information ane communication technologies so that they will be able to apply these insights in their professions. We also acquaint students with the latest trends and potententials of using these technologies in practice.
