Synopsis:

The course aims at business and managerial language, as used in company management. The student´s skills in foreign language speaking and writing are to be developed in the area of management ( work and motivation, company structure, managing across cultures, recruitment). The students are also acquinted with the most up-to-date professional jargon dealing with project management and project planning. Further training in the proper use of grammar structures is provided simultaneously with vocabulary extension.

Requirements:

Active participation in class, regular attendance, regular submitting of assignments, credit test(min. 50% each part)

Consequences of non-awarded credits.

The student who was not granted a credit (due to the failed test or insufficient attendance) cannot proceed with the course AJ2 in the summer semester of the same academic year. He will have to wait until the next academic year when he can simultaneously enrol on AJ1 and AJ3 courses in winter semester. Once he fulfills all the necessary requirements (attendance + successfully written credit test) he will be granted a credit for the course AJ1. If at the same time he will meet all the requirements of the course AJ3 (final exam test + Concept Note) his final exam will be considered as successfully passed. He will, however, have to enrol on AJ 2 in summer term and ONLY AFTER he successfully meets the requirements of AJ 2 (attendance + successfully passed credit test) his ENGLISH Course (AJ1 - AJ3) will be considered as accomplished.

Study Objective:

The aim of the course is to develop the basic language skills acquired during the previous language traning. Our intention is to focus on acquisition of the vocabulary used in the students´potential professions. The second part of the language training develops students´ abilities to express their ideas adequately in terms of grammar and register needed in professional communication( grammar structures).
