Synopsis:

The subject of the Design studio 4 is an architectural development of selected studies from ATV 1 (residential buildings), ATV2 (small public building) or ATV3 (large public building), a detailed structural, materials and technology design of the whole building or its part, including structural and architectural details. Preliminary structural analysis and building service systems concept are part of the students outcomes. Despite of architectural concept special attention is focused on building energy concept, complex building quality including sustainable building and quality of internal microclimate.

Requirements:

Equirements for obtaining a graded credit:

Active participation in studio teaching

Max. three excused absences per semester.

Individual consultations outside of the exercises do not replace mandatory class attendance.

Participation in review dates and presentations set by the studio head.

Submission of work within the prescribed deadline and format, to the extent set by the studio head.

Study Objective:

The aim of the design studio ATV4 is to understand the principles of the complex structural, material and technology concept of the building including the building service systems concept and to develop the original architectural concept from the technical point of view and in line with the principals of sustainable buildings. The aim of the subject is also to introduce the principals of drawing and technical documentation.

Study materials:

Relevant regulations and standards, especially ČSN 01 3420, syllabus and textbooks of the departments of building structures, concrete and masonry structures, steel and wooden structures, technical building equipment.
