Synopsis:

Geometric and diffraction theory of optical imaging. Theory of aberrations of optical systems. Fundamentals of radiometry, photometry and colorimetry. Transfer properties of optical systems. Deconvolution techniques in spatial and spectral domain. Digital methods of image processing.

1.-3. Geometric and diffraction theory of optical imaging.

4.-7. Theory of aberrations of optical systems.

8. Fundamentals of photometry and colorimetry.

9. Transfer properties of optical systems.

10. Methods of deconvolution in the spatial and frequency domain.

11.-13. Digital image processing methods.

Study Objective:

The aim is to introduce students to the basic principles of optical imaging theory, aberration theory of optical systems and selected methods of image information processing.
