Synopsis:

The course introduces the fundamentals of the fault-diagnosis and testing systems, machine condition monitoring, vibrodiagnostics and advanced signal processing methods, non-destructive testing and testing of analog and digital circuits. In laboratory will be demonstrated selected diagnostic tools, and solved an individual project related to diagnostics and/or testing.

Requirements:

Fundamentals of Digital Signal Processing, Linear Algebra, Analog and Digital Circuits

1. Diagnostics, Prognostics, FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), FMECA, FMSA

2. Fault Modelling, Fault Detection and Diagnosis, Fault Tolerance

3. Machine Condition Monitoring, Condition based Maintenance (CBM), Prognostics and Health Management

4. Analysis of Vibration and Noise, Cepstral and Enevelope Analysis, Analysis of Non-Stationary and Stochastic Signals, Order Analysis

5. Case Studies: Diagnostics of Shafts, Gearboxes and Bearings, Implementation of CBM Systems, Prognostics for Life-Cycle Management

6. Impulse and Continuous Acoustic Emission for Diagnostic Purposes

7. Non-destructive Testing (NDT), Detection and Localization, Probability of Detection

8. Ultrasonic NDT, Non-contact Methods (EMAT)

9. Eddy Current NDT, Holography, Endoscopy, Thermovision and Radiography

10. In-circuit Testing, Built-in Self Test Methodology

11. Design for Test, In-circuit Testing for Analog Components

12. Digital Testing, Fault Masking, Path Sensitization, Test Compression

13. Boundary Scan, JTAG Interface

14. Industrial Testing and Diagnostics of Electronic Systems
