Application of lasers in industrial technologies, medicine, remote sensing, energetics, telecommunication, military, entertainment and other branches.

Requirements:

Knowledge of laser physics or technics, basic course level

Syllabus of lectures:

1. Laser applications in medicine: the interaction of radiation with tissue

2. ophthalmology and immunomodulation

3. surgery, cardiac surgery, urology

4. dermatology, PDT

5. Application of lasers in technology: heat transfer

6. cutting

7. welding

8. lithography, tagging

9. drilling, surface treatment

10. criteria for use of lasers in industry

11. newest applications

Study Objective:

Knowledge:

Basics of laser technology, application of lasers, classification;

Skills:

Application of primary and secondary factors in the decision of particular laser application, determination of the laser system output parameters for the specified application.
