The aim of this practical training is to introduce the students the fundamentals of X-ray and neutron diffraction methods for diagnostics of structure dependant properties of solids.

1. Experimental equipment for X-ray and neutron diffraction ^^2. Laue method for determination of crystal orientation ^^3. Rietveld analysis of polycrystalline materials ^^4. Qualitative phase analysis ^^5. X-ray texture analysis ^^6. Diffraction profiles´ analysis ^^7. Study of thermal relaxation of residual stresses ^^8. Use of neutron diffraction for texture studies ^^9. ODF - a mathematical tool for quantitative texture analysis ^^10. X-ray fluorescent analysis ^^11. Determination of single crystals´ structure.
