Course introduces basic principles of 3D modelling and detailing of steel structures. It makes use of Tekla Structures software and it's application program interface (API). An attention is paid to the principles of development of modern bespoke application in .NET environment
- Requirements:

Required is basic knowledge of design of steel structures.
- Syllabus of lectures:
-
(1) Principles of 3D modelling, basic definitions, global and local coordinate system, introduction of a full scale 3D model of a single storey building,
(2) Connection database, principle of creating steel details, built-in design principles,
(3) .NET basics, variables, class, basic language elements
(4) Winforms library, WPF
(5) Tekla Structures API, References. Generating of simple elements.
(6) Designing data structures and classes for portal framework.
(7) Methods for generating a 3D model of a portal frame structure.
(8) API call and processing code in to Tekla Structures.
(9 - 14) Consultation.

Seminar is kept closely with lessons. There is more work on student's side in second half of the semester.
