Synopsis:

TP interference law for stacionary optical fields, mutual coherence

function, degree of coherence. The Van Citter-Zernike theorem. Fourier

spectroscopy and Fourier optics. Optics of crystals. Jones and Mueller

calculus. Rayleigh scaterring, Mie scattering, intensity and polarization

of scattered light.

Requirements:

Syllabus of lectures:

- TP interference law for stacionary optical fields, mutual coherence function, degree of coherence

- The Van Citter-Zernike theorem.

- Fourier spectroscopy and Fourier optics.

- Optics of crystals. Jones and Mueller calculus.

- Rayleigh scaterring, Mie scattering, intensity and polarization of scattered light.

Syllabus of tutorials:

Analytic and numerical examples on light coherence,propagation of coherent light,birefringence,light scattering and Fourier optics.
