Synopsis:

General approach to quality of technical objects. Concept of quality and reliability of materials in production of structural elements. Effect of production quality of materials on their life in structures.

Quantification of life of technical objects. Limit states of materials in structures. Classification of limit states in technical object according to its origin. Permissibility of flaws and defects in materials. Effect of material purity on its subsequent processing. Residual stress in material after preceding operations. Effect of forming, welding and surface treatment on structure and properties of metallic materials. Effect of production technologies on surface quality.
