Synopsis:

Garant: Prof. Dr. Ir. Jan Hensen

Contact person: Ing. Vojtěch Zavřel, Ph.D.

From the lectures and from self-study web-based course material the students will get an understanding of a range of low energy analysis/design tools. The class attempts to show the key concepts involved with a variety of tools and their possible applications. The practical part of the course comprises a set of exercises which will make the students familiar with the main features of a specific building performance simulation software. The course is taught in English.

Requirements:
Syllabus of lectures:

The building as an integration of structure, energy systems, indoor and outdoor environment. Low energy analysis/design software tools, their capabilities, limitations and possible applications. Building performance simulation. Outdoor environment, climatic reference years. Technical systems (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) and their control. Indoor air quality, thermal comfort. Verification and validation of modelling results.
