Synopsis:

The course is intended for students who will elaborate a bachelor thesis at the Institute of Materials Engineering. Students will learn in practice the basics of experimental methods that will be used in further studies. An integral part is the evaluation and processing of the results obtained.

Requirements:

Passing of course „Materials Science II“, at least 80% presence at training courses

Syllabus of lectures:

Preparation of the experiment

Separation and fixation of metallographic samples

Etching technique

Light microscope observation

Metallographic analysis

Microstructure documentation

Hardness measurement

Execution of selected mechanical tests

Processing of metallographic analysis results

Hardness measurement results processing

Processing of mechanical test results

Presentation of results
