Synopsis:

Basic plastics and composites manufacturing techniques will be introduced as well as a problem of jointing and recycling. Within this course students will visit tool shop, plastics injection plant and company producing composite parts. In laboratories students will manufacture a composite part, make tests of mechanical properties, they will try jointing, machining and reparing of composite parts.

1.Opening lecture, history, materials, techniques, production and treatment of plastics.

2.Rheology of plastic materials.

3.Extrusion.

4.Injection - technology.

5.Injection - dies, machines.

6.Other manufacturing technologies. Plastics jointing.

7.Compisite materials - types, categories.

8.Technologies of composites manufacturing.

9.Mechanical properties of composites - konstruction, calculations.

10.Composites for aircraft, hybrid composites.

11.Composites jointing.

12.Recycling of plastic and composite parts.

13.Final lecture, summary, discusion.
