The course focuses mainly on the business layer and the application layer of the information system. The specifics of industry and construction are also taken into account. The course content covers the basic terms and concepts, principles, approaches and standards used in these areas. The course assumes not only participation in lectures and exercises (2+2), but also teamwork in solving a complex seminar paper - a project of a partial part of the information system covering mainly modelling of business processes, specification of functional requirements for the information system, modelling of the data structure of the information system and specification of OLAP indicators (obtained from the information system data) for managerial decision-making.

The goal of the study is to:
- get knowledge of information systems architectures,
- get the ability to model business processes including complex process systems,
- get the ability to specify and model functionality requirements for software applications,
- get the ability to specify and model information systems data structures,
- get the ability to specify requirements for management information systems,
- become familiar with the specifics of modelling business processes and data structures in industry.
